Rihanna is officially a billionaire, becoming richest female musician

Published

on

Rihanna has officially entered the billionaire’s club, Forbes reported on Wednesday.

Forbes estimates that the pop star and business mogul — founder of fashion house Fenty as well as makeup line Fenty Beauty — is now worth $1.7 billion, making her the wealthiest female musician in the world and the second-wealthiest female entertainer in the world after Oprah Winfrey.

In 2017, the 32-year-old launched Fenty Beauty, an inclusive cosmetics line that made waves for catering to a wide range of individuals. Rihanna owns 50% of the company and has brought in $1.4 billion in less than 5 years. It is under the LVMH conglomerate, which made her the first Black woman under the historical, multinational group.

Fenty Beauty isn’t the only thing bringing in huge money for the star as Savage X Fenty has also proven to be a huge success. In February, the lingerie company raised $115 million in funding at a $1 billion valuation, according to Forbes.

Outside of her flourishing music career, Rihanna has achieved one more significant accomplishment as a business mogul.

With Fenty Beauty and Savage X Fenty keeping her so busy, fans are now left wondering when or if she will ever release another studio album. Since releasing her 2016 album “Anti,” the singer has only appeared as a feature on songs with Drake, DJ Khaled, and PartyNextDoor.
